Paramilitary CRPF troopers and policemen beat up a 7-year old boy to death in uptown Batmaloo area on Monday.
Witnesses told that Police and CRPF men caught hold of Sameer Ahmad Rah at Batmaloo and beat him to pulp without any provocation. “They beat him till he died,” witnesses said.
As the word about the incident spread hundreds of people took to the streets and staged a massive demonstration. Pall of gloom descended upon the entire area with men and women coming out wailing.
Earlier hundreds of people defied curfew at several places in the summer capital and poured out onto streets in protests against the civilian killings in police and CRPF firing during the past seven weeks.
